# What is credit score?

A credit score is a numerical representation of a borrower’s creditworthiness. It plays a crucial role in the mortgage application process.

Lenders use it to determine eligibility and assess risk.

Higher credit scores increase chances of approval and favorable terms. Borrowers must maintain a good credit score, make payments on time, keep credit utilization low, and avoid excessive loan applications.
